2024 CIIE: Cutting-edge technologies on display, smart transportation within reach

Imagine that you can immediately enter the self-service mode of the driver's theoretical test by just swiping your ID card; or as a novice driver, if you want to improve your driving skills, you can just sit in front of the simulator and experience the driving challenges of city streets and rugged mountain roads; even drones have joined the ranks of traffic management, turning into "AI police in the sky" to help monitor road conditions. At the 14th China Road Traffic Safety Products Expo and Public Security Traffic Police Equipment Exhibition (abbreviated as "Jiao Expo") held on April 10, more than 350 companies and institutions from the industry gathered together to jointly showcase new technology applications and traffic safety products in the field of domestic traffic management.

The reporter noticed that in the intelligent transportation exhibition area, a self-service driving test room attracted many visitors to experience it. The examination room is equipped with test lockers, self-service check-in machines, self-service test machines and signature machines. Candidates can participate in the test by swiping their ID cards and passing facial recognition. The test machine has built-in video monitoring and signal shielding functions, which monitor the whole process and automatically judge cheating behavior.


The staff also mentioned: "If this kind of self-service examination room is widely used, candidates will be able to choose the nearest test site for appointment, and we can also provide 24-hour uninterrupted service to provide candidates with more flexible and convenient test arrangements." This innovation will not only greatly improve the efficiency and convenience of driving tests, but also herald a new trend in future driving tests.

"There are many accident-prone sections ahead, please drive carefully." I believe many people have heard such reminders while driving. The short words not only warn drivers to drive safely, but also epitomize Hisense's escort for road traffic safety.


As a leading company in smart transportation, Hisense Network Technology built a scenario-based display area with the theme of "Smart Channel and Comfortable Travel" on site, showing the three core capabilities of big data, video AI, and scenario-based technology with cloud brain technology as the core and combined with traffic big models to comprehensively improve traffic business efficiency.


Among them, in terms of traffic control command, Hisense launched the "scenario-based command" mode, which can solve the problems of slow identification, slow handling, and strong experience dependence of traffic incidents in traditional traffic management. Covering 9 major command scenarios such as morning and evening peaks, large-scale activities, and severe weather, intelligently recommending handling plans, and transforming from human command to AI judgment command.

At the guardrail booth, a unique "walking" guardrail attracted a lot of attention. With just a tap of the remote control, the warning light on the guardrail began to flash, and as the track-driven guardrail moved smoothly, the layout of the road lanes was flexibly adjusted.


On-site staff explained that this smart guardrail can dynamically adjust its position according to real-time traffic flow, increase or decrease the number of lanes, and thus optimize traffic flow. "Through this intelligent adjustment, traffic efficiency may be improved by up to 30%, which not only relieves traffic pressure, but also significantly reduces the risk and work intensity of traffic police on duty."

At the PCI Technology booth, products including the IDPS urban traffic brain + large model, intelligent integrated traffic signal control system and many hardware products attracted the attention of reporters.


According to Liu Hongyin, deputy general manager of the product development department of the intelligent urban traffic business group of PCI Technology, this exhibition focuses on building a digital and intelligent base, digital and intelligent model and digital and intelligent empowerment for comprehensive three-dimensional transportation in urban agglomerations, and comprehensively displays the successful practice of the PCI Zhixing transportation industry large model and various software and hardware products in intelligent signal control, non-motor vehicle control, transportation and other scenarios.


In addition, PCI Technology also exhibited the PCI Zhixing transportation large model independently developed for the transportation industry. It is reported that the digital and intelligent model was released in June 2023 to promote the productization of the AI large model of computing power, algorithms and applications, effectively empowering smart transportation scenarios, making citizens' travel more convenient, traffic management more intelligent, and urban operation smoother.

It is reported that during this CIIE, the 2024 China Road Traffic Safety Innovation and Cooperation Conference and three road traffic safety governance innovation and application sub-forums were also held to promote the innovative development of road traffic management, help improve the level of public security traffic management's "reduction and control of large-scale" work, and promote the creation of a new pattern of road traffic safety governance with co-construction, co-governance and sharing.


Yuan Lei, Secretary-General of the China Road Traffic Safety Association, told reporters that since the CIIE was held in 2004, it has always taken the promotion of high-quality development of the industry as its core goal, and by displaying new traffic safety technologies, products and solutions, it has helped to improve the modernization level of road traffic management and contribute to the acceleration of building a strong transportation country.
